About me
It was 1983 when I had to give up my Discus collection due to work related reasons.
A colleague
was raising Parakeets and Conures in a neighbouring community so I was
allowed to have a look at them and I do not need to tell you about the rest…
I slowly found my way and my mentor Willi Kuhn was giving me a helping hand
and selfless support. I learned everything from him back then; what one has to
know and we still share a relationship filled with trust to this day.
He gave me a male Black Capped Conure chick to be raised
by hand and the experiences with this bird have moulded my hobby.
The male reached the age of 18 years and was the father of many young ones.
This is how my preference for Pyrrhuras developed. At times, 14 species and
24 pairs used to fly around in my aviaries. I could not forget about the Australians,
of course; size and colour were always a nice contrast to the South Americans,
but stayed at a low quantity due to space issues. After about 25 years I have
experienced all the ups and downs of raising Pyrrhuras. I wanted to try something
new. So I switched from Pyrrhuras to other species. But who knows what will
happen if there is an opportunity to raise rare species of Pyrrhuras.
I am focusing on the establishment of a larger phylum of the “Red
bellied swift Parakeet” and superior
quality of Neophemas. These are my primary goals.
The other species are not forgotten, of course.
I returned to the Neophema breed due to space constrictions. It
certainly offers many more attractive
surprises and space for creative results.
Visitors with a hearty greeting are always welcome.
I would prefer to have a little chat, rather than just to talk about prices.
I would like to thank especially my dear friend Klaus Oestringer for his support in my absence.
